Music Opportunities

Under the direction of our classroom music teachers, Jason Day and Lesley Cromer, our music program continues to explore new directions in the classroom and for extra-curricular ensemble opportunities.

The music program maintains a Kodaly focus, using tuned and non-tuned percussion instruments along with song and movement elements. Students are also introduced to ukuleles and digital music composition.

Students in Year 2 have the opportunity to join a Strings program, occasionally forming an ensemble to perform at school assemblies and other presentation opportunities.

Students in Years 4, 5 and 6 have opportunities to become involved in our school choir and a Percussion Ensemble where they explore more advanced ensemble music-making and are encouraged to perform both within the school and in the wider community.

  • The Choir is facilitated by Mr Day, our music teacher.

  • The Strings program is facilitated by Clare Zabrowarny.

  • The Percussion Ensemble is facilitated by William Foster

Nicholas Buc collaborated with EEPS students to compose our school song ‘Learning & Growing Together’ and the environmentally themed ‘Star of Eltham’. He also worked with the whole school to compose songs for our School Concerts, including: ‘The Friendship Song’, ‘Kids Will Be Kids’ and ‘To the Stars’.
