Our Behaviour Approach

EEPS Behaviour Response Process

At Eltham East Primary School, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment for every student. Our Behaviour Response Process provides a clear and consistent approach to how we respond to behaviour across the school.

Grounded in our values of being Respectful, Responsible and Resilient, this approach supports students to understand how their actions impact others and make positive choices. Staff use a consistent set of steps to respond to behaviour, ensuring expectations are clear, students are supported, and learning time is protected.

A key part of this is helping students learn from their behaviour. Where appropriate, students are supported to ‘make it right’ by repairing harm, restoring relationships and reflecting on what they can do differently next time. The process also includes consequences, when needed, and communication with families to support a strong home–school connection.

This shared approach ensures consistency for students and staff, and supports all learners to feel safe, connected and ready to learn.
