Enrolment information

Eltham East Primary School is a well resourced high-performing school that offers a high quality education, in an environment committed to child safety, for all primary school aged children. Every year we have a high demand for places at our school and we always do our best to accommodate as many children and their families as possible. For Prep-Year 6 we are accepting children where we are your closest school. The Find My School website is a single source provided by DET to visually represent all school zones throughout Victoria and to make it easier to find your local neighbourhood school or other public school options.

Prep enrolments for 2025

The Department of Education (DE) manages a statewide Prep enrolment timeline (please see below).

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at all Victorian government primary school, including Eltham East Primary School.

The timeline applies for children starting Prep in 2025. All government primary schools will follow this timeline in 2024 to support Prep enrolments for the 2025 school year.

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Prep 2025 at Eltham East Primary School from Monday 15th April 2024.

What you need to do:

1.    Contact our school on 9439 9793 to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process

2.    Download the Prep enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available from Monday 15th April 2024)

3.    Submit an application for Foundation (Prep) for out-of-zone children, or an enrolment form for in-zone children by Friday 26th July 2024..

4. Please download and complete either the application form or the enrolment form and either directly bring this to the school office or email Julianne Roberts (julianne.roberts@education.vic.gov.au), along with a birth certificate, proof or address and an up-to-date immunisation certificate.

5.    You will be notified of the outcome of your application by Friday 9th August 2024. If you receive an offer of placement, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 23rd August 2024

6.    Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2024

7.    Your child will start Foundation (Prep) from Wednesday 29th January 2025.

Enrolment applications submitted after 26 July 2024 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

Our school zone

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

ENROLMENTS YEAR 1 TO YEAR 6

To enrol your child at EEPS in Years 1-6 please contact the school fffice directly for further information regarding enrolment. The processes are changing and vary depending upon which school sector you are transferring from.

You may be required to provide copies of certain documents, such as a birth certificate or proof of address.

OVERSEAS ENROLMENTS

If you are enrolling from overseas there are some additional pieces of information required so please telephone our helpful office staff on +6 13 9439 9793.

PREP TRANSITION

Your child should turn five years of age by 30th April of their preparatory year.
