Percussion Ensemble and Choir tribute
The Eltham East Primary School Choir has for many years been acknowledged
as one of Australia's foremost children's choirs. In 2017 with mixed emotions Anne Williams announced her retirement. The choir was proud of its tradition, covering three generations of excellence. Under the direction of David Tyndall, who worked collaboratively with Anne for many years, the music program is exploring new directions. It maintains its Kodaly program, using tuned and untuned percussion instruments along with song and movement elements.
In 2018 the Percussion Ensemble continues with Alexander Clayton.
In 2018, the tradition of working collaboratively with local and international composers continues. Nic Buc worked with the whole school in 2017, and has composed our new song around school pride to be premiered at the 2018 production. Nic collaborated with EEPS students to compose our school song Purple and Gold, the environmentally themed Star of Eltham, the Friendship song and the intercultural kids Will Be Kids.
